Can you lay the foundations for success, one brick at a time?

If you know your headers from your stretchers and believe that good teaching is as solid as a well-built wall, we’ve got a role that’s right up your alley.

We’re looking for a Lecturer (Bricklaying) who’s ready to pass on their craft, inspire the next generation of tradespeople, and build something that lasts—both in the workshop and in the classroom.

You will:

  • Deliver top-tier teaching in bricklaying, from theory to hands-on practice.
  • Support learners on study programmes and apprenticeships, helping them master the trade and meet qualification standards.
  • Create lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment materials that are as well-structured as a cavity wall.
  • Act as a personal tutor, offering guidance, motivation, and a bit of character-building along the way.
  • Track progress, giving feedback, and helping students hit their targets (and exceed them).
  • Develop the curriculum to reflect modern industry standards and prepare students for real-world success.
  • Keep accurate records, managing course files, and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

You will need:

  • A vocational qualification in bricklaying or solid industry experience.
  • A teaching qualification (or a willingness to gain one in employment).
  • A passion for passing on your skills and shaping future professionals.
  • Excellent communication, motivation, and presentation skills.
  • A calm, confident approach—even when the pressure’s on.
  • A team spirit and a genuine interest in education and personal development.

You will be part of a college that values craftsmanship, character and community. Whether you're guiding apprentices or leading a class, you'll be helping students build more than just walls, you'll be building their future.

Benefits: 11 weeks holiday including bank holidays, 28.68% College pension contribution to TPS, health care cash plan, free car parking, discounted Hair & Beauty, on-site gym, staff development & training, Pluxee Retail Discount Scheme, and more!

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sectors of the community.

Please note that this vacancy may close before the published closing date if sufficient applications are received so if you are interested, please apply as soon as possible. To apply, you MUST have Right to Work in the UK.
