Join Us as a Tutor on the Project SEARCH Team – Based at Amazon
Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers? Do you believe education should launch people into life, not hold them back?
We’re hiring a Tutor to work with our incredible Project SEARCH team – a life-changing supported internship programme for 18–25-year-olds with additional needs. This is no ordinary teaching role. As a Tutor, you’ll be based at Amazon, guiding a small cohort of interns from education into real employment.
What You’ll Do as a Tutor
Empower young adults with SEND to thrive in work placements at Amazon and beyond
Deliver creative, hands-on sessions focused on employability, maths, and English – practical tools, not textbooks
Coach and mentor students using Systematic Instruction – helping them overcome challenges and celebrate success
Collaborate with top employers like Amazon, Swindon Borough Council, and Great Western Hospital
Set and track SMART goals to build confidence, independence, and progress
Be the bridge between education and employment – between potential and real-world opportunity
What We’re Looking For in a Tutor
A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to gain one during employment)
Experience working with young people with additional needs
A natural relationship-builder – with students, employers, and team members alike
A strong belief in inclusion, equality, and the power of education to transform lives
Positivity, patience, and a sense of humour
Why This Tutor Role is Different
You’ll be part of a trailblazing programme reshaping inclusive education. You’ll work inside Amazon, where learning meets life, and you’ll be on the front line of helping young people discover who they can become.
If you’re ready to step out of the traditional classroom and into something truly meaningful, we want to hear from you.
New College Swindon is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We particularly welcome applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
