Specialist Learning Support Tutor (Assessor)

Salary: £26,508 - £37,833 pa pro rata

Contract Size: 0.9

Contract Details: Maternity Cover,  Fixed Term

Start Date: 24 August 2020,  this contract will end on 28 June 2021.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Tutor to join our Additional Support Team. The main job purpose is to: 

• To identify learners who will need additional (learning) support.  

• To provide professional diagnostic reports written in a language easily accessible to non-specialists.  

• To provide a plan to deliver additional learning support.  

• To provide 1:1 support to learners (across the full ability range) who need individual help to improve their learning skills. 

• To provide specialist group provision for targeted areas of learning  

The successful candidate will need to hold a full Level 5 teaching qualification (or be on a teaching programme) and educated to degree level. 

We would expect you to hold a minimum of Level 7 qualification approved by the JCQ in SpLD. It is essential that you have relevant teaching experience of working with students with a range of difficulties including SpLD, ADHD, General & Moderate Learning Difficulties, or Pervasive Development Disorders. English, Maths and ICT are required at a minimum of Level 2.

Please note an enhanced DBS will be required for this role. The successful candidate is required to meet the payment of this DBS check which is currently £40.      

On appointment, you will be placed at the salary point aligned to a number of factors which include, but are not limited to, qualifications, previous relevant experience, current salary and market forces.
